The Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada has launched a campaign called Take Action PAH (www.takeactionpah.ca). In this campaign they are looking for people across Canada to write to their MPP, Premier and to their Minister of Health in the hopes that this government body will encourage the Pan Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance to negotiate quickly and in favour of publicly funding a PAH treatment called Uptravi.
We NEED Uptravi to be publicly funded NOW because it is approximately $4,000 a month PLUS it can help slow down the progression of PAH in many more patients. How can you help? 1- Go to the website and send letters to your MPP, Premier and Minister of Health. 2- Post the website to your social media account to encourage friends and family to send letters too. 3- Contact your local MPP's office to set up a meeting with them. If you do this, contact the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada and they will provide you with training. Once there you can ask the MPP to send/give a letter to the Minister of Health. 4- Go to the media with your story (feel free to reach out to PHA they have contacts who deal with the media portion and are tremendously helpful and supportive) 3. Talk to others about how to get our voices heard or just to raise awareness about PAH, PH, etc 4-Comment below and provide other ideas on how we can advocate
